Sightseeing:
Discover the hidden treasures in the centre of Mondolfo, like Sant Agostino's church, San Gervasio's church, the town-hall, and the saint place of Madonna delle grotte from the 17th century. You can take part in the Spaghetti festival in March, or admire the pageantry of the locals in renaissance costumes in July.
The third largest centre of the region, Fano lies 10 km north from Marotta. The city houses many gorgeous churches, and the broad remnants of the Roman and medieval ages. The city wall that was built by Emperor August with its city gate, which was the starting point of the trade route called "Flaminia" and leads to Rome. Every Wednesday and Saturday the market takes place in the city centre. Visit the flea market on every second Saturday and Sunday. The winter ends with an enormous carnival. This celebration is one of the world’s oldest festivities of this kind: the inhabitants are marching with funny puppets which look like celebrities. The antique book market takes place in July. The city’ entertainment centre offers various programs (bowling, billiard, etc.) and opposite to the airport horse riding horses. Boat-tours are regularly departing from the Fano harbour, on which you have the opportunity for fishing as well!
Urbino is one of the most important towns in the Marche for the tourists in search of great Italian art and architecture. Its Centro Storico now boasts the honour of being included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. From the 15th century the place was home for one of the most illustrious courts in Europe. Duke Federico da Montefeltro gathered around him the greatest painters, poets and scholars of his day and housed them in one of the most beautiful Renaissance palace in Italy.
An advice worth taken: approach the town from Arezzo to see the fairy-tale twin towers of the palace that give Urbino its unmistakable skyline. Urbino is the birth place of the famous painter Raffaello Sanzio.
With its 28 000 inhabitants, San Marino is one of the smallest states of the world, and moreover the oldest republic in Europe. The mini state is built on the peak of the 739 m high Mt. Titano. San Marino is separated with borders from Italy, but border-crossing does not require passport. The official language is Italian, and the local currency is Euro.
Since 1853 Senigallia has been one of the most popular seaside resorts, and still today its old centre has a certain solid mercantile grandeur. Check out the city’s numerous shops to acquire some masterpiece of the Italian fashion – but don’t forget the siesta, when the shops are closed up to 4 PM.
Famous ship-harbour and seat of the bishops, Pope Pius the 9th also born here.
The finest monument is the old fort, the Rocca Roveresca, built in 1480.
20 km away from Marotta lays Pesaro, the birth place of Rossini. His birth house is a museum nowadays. The city is built on a hill. In memorial of the famous composer, opera-festivals are organized all the year along. Strolling along the pedestrian street you may visit antique houses and the famous ceramics-museum or the market on Tuesdays.
Gradara lays only a short coach trip away from the Adriatic Sea. The city is one of the most striking landmarks from the northern Marche coastal strip. The fortress which dominates the town was owned by the Malatesta family. From its walls you may have a breathtaking view at the country. In July you can visit the famous antic market here.
The dripstone cavern of Frasassi has a constant 14°C temperature inside. Discovered by chance in 1971, then opened three years later, the cavern is the largest in it’s category in the whole country.

Mirabilandia, Cesenatico (87 km)
Italy's largest fun park is located at Ravenna; it has 7 theme areas, 43 attractions, 12 live shows and a huge nature park. One day at Mirabilandia, and you can be "Indiana Jones" on the roller-coaster, an explorer on the Rio Bravo rapids, or an astronaut by riding “Katun”, Europe's number one suspended roller-coaster! For those who prefer to take their excitement comfortably sat down, watch the Police Academy, Europe's most thrilling Stunt Show.
Italia in Miniatura, Rimini (60 km)
In the park of Italia in Miniatura you can see the sights of Italy all grouped together in 270 perfect scale models which reproduce all the architectural wonders of the country. The attraction is located in a marvellous natural green setting, surrounded by a fascinating microcosm of moving model trains, ships and cable-cars. The boat trip makes the whole attraction even more authentic.
Fiabilandia (55 km)
The children's world of Fiabilandia is the perfect place to spend a special day enjoying you among the large green areas and over 30 attractions for the whole family. The park offers catering points, picnic areas, large car-park and a small swimming pool for children inside a rocky oasis. To the numerous attractions belong last but not least many shows and ice-shows: Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio and many more. Do not miss the Laugh Festival and the Wild West stunt show as well!
Acquafan, Riccione (55 km)
Aquafan is rightfully considered Europe's number one water park. Aquafan is full of excitement, thanks to its fantastic slides and water games. With its well kept park and events this place is an all-about-fun aqua-park for the whole family.
Dolphin show, Rimini (60 km)
The Rimini Dolphinarium is home to a group of dolphins, who may amaze you with their enjoyable and instructive performance. After the show you can visit the sea gallery or take a journey among aquariums. Reproductions of river and marine environments from the Mediterranean to the tropical seas introduce visitors into to the mysterious world of the world-seas.

The not-so-well-known city of San Leo is considered by the Italians to be even more valuable sightseeing, than San Marino. The oil-palm crowded hill of Assisi, the medieval alleys and monasteries are ever-lasting memories for pilgrims and tourists alike.
Furlo is a wonderful mountain pass with crystal clear waters. Fiorentia, Rome and Pisa can be achieved from Marotta within a day, but if you want to return on the same day, you might have only a small preview from those places. However, these sneak-previews are more than enough to root the determination of coming back again!
